Gabriel Dib is a Brazilian composer based in Los Angeles.
His career started in São Paulo, Brazil, playing with local bands and writing music and producing audio for commercials. After a decade in the music industry in Brazil, in 2011 Gabriel moved to Chicago for a MFA in Film Scoring at Columbia College.
In 2013 he moved again to Los Angeles where he collaborated with several composers writing additional music for TV shows like (ABC), The Family (ABC), Rush (USA Channel), Halt and Catch Fire (AMC), Mad Dogs (Amazon Studios), Matador (El Rey Networks), The Messengers (The CW), Bajo el Mismo Cielo (Telemundo), East Los High (Hulu), Criminal Minds Beyond Borders and Criminal Minds (CBS). He also contributed writing music for feature films like Rio Heat (Paradise Inc.),In The Name of the Law, Susie's Hope, A Reason, Drumline: A New Beat (VH1) and McFarland (Disney) starring Kevin Costner. Gabriel is the composed the music of the short film Banho Maria, a film by Miguel de Oliveira nominated to the Brazilian Cinema Grand Prize, the Brazilian Film Academy awards. He is also the composer for the web series Miss Beverly Hills Ghost which was the most awarded web series in 2017.
Gabriel has scored 171 - Negócio de Família (171 - Family Business) for Universal Channel, Our Blood is Wine a documentary selected at the Berlin Film Festival by Emily Railsback and the action feature film E.A.S Esquadrão Anti Sequestro. In 2019 he contributed to the score of the TV show Lore (Amazon) wrote the score and Umbrella, a short film selected over 50 film festivals including Tribeca film festival, it has been awarded in multiple of them and qualified for the Oscars Award 2021. In 2021 Gabe score the series Incredibears and is working on the feature films Dark Room by Paulo Fontanelle and Duetto by Vicente Amorim, a rising star on Brazilian cinema.
Gabriel's talents expand beyond music creation into audio engineering and in 2020 Where Is Nancy, a film he worked as sound designer and re-recording engineer was awarded the grand jury prize at the prestigious Californian film festival Cinequest.
Gabriel also is a graphic designer and computer programmer and has been contributing to multiple companies on creating a number of virtual instruments for composers and music producers. He is releasing on Q1 2021 his own new guitar based instrument through Cinesamples, one of the world's leading virtual instruments makers.
